The Bible says to call husband Lord as Sarah called Abraham even as he cowered in fear and sent Sarah practically to another man's bedchamber. God didn't count her as sin but protected her by plaguing that king and later commended her in the new testament and used her as an example as our mother if we follow her example without fear or amazement.
That means when dh behaves foolishly It is our beautiful opportunity to practice faith, to lean into God in prayer, be still and know he is at work and it may take years.
How many years did Abraham have to wait for his miracle son? I believe about 40 years. How many years did Hannah pray for her baby to come? Only about 10 years. How many years are you willing to wait for your husband to experience re-birth?
It is easier if we do just what the Bible says, just hush-up and revere your husband. Treat him like Gold. Adore him. When you are reverent to him you will be worshiping God.
When you see his foolishness in your thoughts your soul reflects it through your eyes because your eyes are the window of your soul and he feels it and it repels his ability to freely be the man God wants him to be.
"Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever thins are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." (Phillipians 4:8)
I know it's hard to adore a foolish man but as you exercise this you will see the results. You will reap what you sew.
"A merry heart doeth good like medicine, but a broken spirit drieth the bones. (Proverbs 17:22)
May the only wise God grant you His wisdom for every part of your life.
