Frugality 101

What I do at home for the sake of frugality is:

1) I made my baby wipes by cutting two old white cotton extra large T- shirts.

2) I keep my toddler in cloth trainers in the day and only disposable, budget diapers at night.

3) We pass around a kitchen towel and use it as a napkin.

4) I made handkerchiefs out of old undershirts and wrote names on them.

5) Wrote names on kids bath towels and wash them once a week.

6) Only buy cheap shampoo for the family.

7) Occasionally use diluted cider vinegar to rinse hair.

8) Cheap baby oil to moisturize our bodies when we’re still damp.

9) Ivory soap for faces and body.

10) If face needs extra moisture use witch hazel or aloe or honey when damp.

11) Petroleum jelly for lips and feet and eczema.

12) Wash dishes by hand.

13) For family of five limit groceries to $40.00 every two weeks. How you do that is only buy produce that’s on sale. Milk, eggs, cheese, tortillas, beans, rice, pasta, oatmeal (not individual packets), only meats that are on sale. Any veggies you may still need after that you can buy in can that is on sale. If I’m craving bread I make it at home. Go home and make it work.

14) We buy the best cheap toilet paper.

15) Cheap laundry soap.

16) Gallon of vinegar and/or gallon of ammonia for cleaning.
